Kalum Boat Launch

Client: City of Terrace

Project:  Progressive Ventures was contracted to clear debris from the municipal boat launch in Terrace.  At the same time, we were also asked to remove hazardous log jams from the Kalum River immediately downstream of the Municipal boat launch.  The removal of wood from the river and earthworks in the riparian zone required working closely with Ministry of Environment, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and local First Nations Fisheries Management organizations.  Consequently, stringent environmental standards were maintained.  Additionally, the work environment is inherently dangerous so we worked closely with Raven Rescue, a professional swift water rescue company who provided a swift water rescue technician to be onsite ensuring the safety of our workers in the river environment.
The full scope of the project was completed quickly and safely.  Under the direction of the City of Terrace, there was even time to remove additional debris beyond our original scope of work and the boat launch is now left cleaner, safer and more user friendly.

Scope of the project was adding 11,500 sq ft of new facility in addition to an inside / outside renovation of 21,000 sq ft of existing building.  The final result was a most impressive modernized dealership that was completed 30 days ahead of schedule and on budget.
