While this isn’t a power project at all, it fits best in this category and really would be quite similar to parts of a micro-hydro project
Client: Fisheries and Oceans Canada
Architect: Kerr Wood Leidal Associates Ltd.
Project: The Pinkut Creek Spawning channel is located on the shore of Babine Lake. Water is supplied to the spawning channels through an intake tunnel running from Pinkut Creek. The purpose of this project was to minimize or eliminate the bed load deposition at the entrance to the intake tunnel. This was accomplished through the construction of a weir and the addition of a sluice gate to the existing weir structure. This required a section of the creek to be drained, form work to be constructed, rock to be excavated, and concrete poured.
